In this game, think about the relationship between the meanings of the two charactersand choose one of three answers.
Looking at word structure can help you understand Japanese compounds.
How to play

One of the three targets contains the correct answer.
Click or tap a panel, or use the Left, Down and Right arrow keys.
The project includes all Japanese primary-school kanji, so please allow time for it to load.
Drawing the characters took longer than writing the code!

How to prepare questions for a remix
The example screenshot shows how the question text is displayed.
The project assigns a number to each type of compound:
- Characters with similar meanings
- Characters with opposite meanings
- The first character describes the second
- The second character is the object of the first
- A compound containing a negative character

As in the example above, writethe compound followed by its structure numberusing the format shown.
Separate each field with a half-width slash (/).
Do not add a slash at the end of the line.
The project supports kanji taught in Japanese primary school. Other characters may not display correctly.
Examples (Japanese question data):
豊富/1
分別/1
正誤/2
善悪/2
青空/3
雨空/3
