Get Ideas from Books
Not sure what to do for your project?
Try looking in books for fun experiments or observations.
You might find something and think,
“I can do this!” or “This looks fun!”
All the books we recommend are easy to read and made for kids.
You can look for them at the library—or maybe you already have one at home!

Books are full of topics that are fun and useful at the same time!
You can also learn how to do your research and write it up.
You can use this original worksheet if you’d like!
Try a Science Kit at Home!
“It’s hard because I don’t have the right tools…”
“I don’t know how to write up my project…”
If you feel that way, using a science kit might be a great idea!
Most kits come with clear instructions, so even if it’s your first time, you don’t have to worry.
Some can be done in about an hour, and others let you observe things over time—lots of fun choices!

Using a kit makes it easier to write about “What happened?” and “Why?” in detail!
It’s okay if things don’t work out the first time.
You can try again or compare your results to make your own special research project!
